We are the Good Neighbors Of Rowan County.

CALL YOUR LEGISLATORS, HAVE YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY CALL THEIR LEGISLATORS AND LET THEM KNOW HOW APPRECIATIVE WE ARE OF THE PROGRESS THIS YEAR, BUT WE WANT A BILL THAT CONTAINS REAL CHANGE AND WE SUPPORT BILL HOUSE BILL 531!!!!

WE WANT:
1. A vote for the registered voters in the proposed annexation area and that a simple majority of votes cast would stop the annexation process.

2. There must be oversight of the total annexation process by the local county commissioners.

THE FIGHT IS FAR FROM OVER AND THE CITY WILL BE BACK. IT IS NOT A MATTER OF IF, IT IS WHEN WILL THEY TRY AGAIN. IT TOOK 10 YEARS LAST TIME, WE THINK IT WILL BE SOONER THAN THAT THIS TIME.

WE STILL NEED LOTS OF HELP TO GET THE STATE LAWS CHANGED. PLEASE CONTACT SOMEONE ON THE STEERING COMMITTEE AND SEE HOW YOU CAN HELP.

THE CITY COUNCIL HAS DECIDED NOT TO GO AHEAD WITH THE ANNEXATION OF THE HWY 150 CORRIDOR. THIS IS GREAT NEWS, BUT WE STILL HAVE A LONG WAY TO GO.

We are fighting against forced annexation. Specifically we are trying to stop the City of Salisbury from continuing forced annexation and we are changing the state laws to give citizens a voice in forced annexation.

We are raising funds to change the state laws. This fight is for anyone who lives in outside of a city or town and does not want to be forcefully annexed.

The money raised will go to pay for Lawyer fees, public awareness campaigns, and fighting to change the state annexation law as voted on by the steering committee of GNORC.
